About me

Salam, Hello, Bonjour everyone

This is me, Yaser Shaban Kabakibo. As usual, I like to put myself in trouble. For some reason, I didn’t think that my full-time executive job, three little boys and an ongoing part-time MBA was enough to keep me occupied. So I decided to write a book. This is my first experience writing and I will take it easy. Writing is not my strength, but I think this is the best way to improve it. I will enjoy the journey and I hope you will enjoy it as well. I plan to make this experience an interactive one with your comments, supports and encouragement.

A little bit about me…I just became a Canadian citizen after wondering earth for 31 years not knowing where I belong. I inherited the Syrian nationality from my parents but I never lived or visited Syria myself. I would love to one day…I hope (like my father said 30 years ago). I was born in Saudi Arabia but grew up in France. I came to Canada to study, then got married to my beautiful wife (who will generously edit my writing and whom I will hopefully convince to start her own blog because she is the best cook in the whole world. Can you believe that I never had two meals the same since we got married in 2005!), got a job, the kids the house and the whole shebang.

I studied and started my career as an engineer, quickly realized that I didn’t get my calling. So I planned and started my career shift to a commercial one. This book will explain the steps and the mistakes I have made to reach my goal.
